The National Youth Cup and National Youth Challenge will return to Melbourne following Wyncity Bowl & Entertainment winning the rights to host the 2019 events.

The Point Cook centre will host the 2019 National Youth Cup on the 12th and 13th January and the National Youth Challenge from the 15th till 17th January.

Following the completion of the event at Campbelltown City Bowl where Owen Wong Wei of Singapore and Jodie Kos of the ACT took the honours in the National Youth Cup and spectators got to witness the ACT fight back to stop Victoria’s, four year strangle hold on the title and be crowned the best youth team in the National Youth Challenge, the 2019 venue was announced at the annual awards dinner.

Having hosted the two events in 2016 and a number of nationally ranked events including the Australian Adult Championships in 2017, the 24 lane state of the art centre will host the two premier youth events on the Australian calendar in 2019.

CEO Cara Honeychurch said after the announcement that

“It is great to take the tournament back to Wyncity and I know bowlers will get to experience a great centre to bowl in.”

“Edi De Pellegrin and her team have delivered many successful events and we look forward to working with them to deliver another successful National Youth Cup and Youth Challenge.

“While we are looking forward to 2019 I would like to thank the Webb family at Campbelltown City Bowl for the outstanding work they have put in over the last 2 years to grow both events.”
